Morse Profile Martin Glenn was sworn in as a United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of New York on November 30, 2006. Judge Glenn earned his B.S. degree from Cornell University in 1968, and his J.D. degree from Rutgers Law School in 1971. He was an Articles Editor of the Rutgers Law Review. Judge Glenn served as a law clerk for Hon. Henry J. Friendly, Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, from 1971-72. From 1972 until his appointment to the bench, Judge Glenn practiced law with O'Melveny & Myers, in Los Angeles until 1985 and thereafter in New York. His practice focused on complex civil litigation, including securities, RICO, unfair competition, and financial and accounting fraud. Judge Glenn is an elected member of the American Law Institute. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, where he previously served on the Federal Courts Committee and the Ad Hoc Committee on Judicial Conduct. He is a Trustee of the Federal Bar Council and a member of its Program Committee. He was the Co-Chair of the Advisory Group to the New York State-Federal Judicial Council, and also was a Director of The Fund for Modern Courts.
